Dr. Shirin Arkwazee
Dr. Arkwazee's journey into dentistry started at a young age. She grew up living with her grandmother, who wore dentures and watched in amazement one evening as she took them out. The impact was immense as this young girl realized how much her grandmother's smile changed without them. It was that moment which sparked a young would-be dentist's interest in fixing smiles and learning about dentistry. Holding a Bachelor’s of Dental Surgery degree from Iraq, Dr. Arkwazee met her husband, Ibrahim, and after completing her internship, the family decided to leave Iraq for a better life and moved to the United States. Dr. Arkwazee worked as a dental assistant and hygienist before being accepted into Penn Dental Medicine, an Ivy League school, where her skills were honed under the guidance of top professionals. Dr. Arkwazee had the privilege of serving the community in Philadelphia, providing care to patients from all walks of life. She is passionate about educating patients, ensuring they feel informed and empowered regarding their oral health. At Lakeland Family Dental Arts, we treat our patients like family and strive to make each visit the best experience possible. When not practicing, Dr. Arkwazee loves painting, handcrafts, and spending time with her husband, Ibrahim, their daughter Tanya, and their son, Musa. She feels truly blessed to help her patients and takes great satisfaction in seeing joy on their faces when they love the results. Dentistry is not just a career; it is her passion.
